So for the past four weeks I've been volunteering at VINS, in the rehabilitation center. We take care of a whole lot of different baby birds. Mostly robins, pheobes, starlings, and northern flickers, but we've also had chickadees, bluebirds, grackles, a baltimore oriole, and a couple of ducks. It's really fun. Three times the birds have escaped, but we've caught them. It's especially fun feeding the older birds, because they climb all over you. When I was feeding the flickers, at least six were climbing on me, and at one point, there were three on me at once.
There is also an educational barn owl they have been raising since he was a chick.
